Nurturing & Nourishing
the Caregiver
What's going on in the world of Mental Health Caregiving?

community of Mental Health Family Caregivers
The term "CareFuLLY" is used to describe the type of "FULL" consideration we must have for ourselves and anything pertaining to our health and well being. If we neglect ourselves we are "killing slowly" the very asset, in fact the number one asset our loved one has on this journey...Ourselves and our support. We cannot support or care for anyone if we ourselves are ill, overexerted, and burned out.
"CareFULLY" is all inclusive in our caring. We are caring for ourselves as a whole person not just the part that needs to limp through the day. The whole of ourselves, the individual with wants, needs, dreams, and desires.
There are so many things we do in the course of the day that require a great deal of our time and commitment, many of them we have been doing for so long they are second nature. Our life commitments can include everything from house chores, paying bills, going to work or school and staying in good health by working out and going to the doctor. All of these things require structure and planning to be fully effective, meaning at some point you need to have a vacation or "time off" to just enjoy all that you work so hard for.
Everyone gets that and understands that. Somehow when it comes to having a family and becoming responsible for other people in our life all of a sudden something else happens, "guilt". Guilt amongst the other time thieves causes us to neglect the the time off, to excuse it away, procrastinate or cheat ourselves on the "full bounty" of "time off". There is no longer room for ourselves, that's not okay. "CareFULLY" is a caregiver community full of other caregivers and resources for caregivers.

What is a Family
Caregiver?
Anyone who provides any type of physical and/or emotional care for an ill or disabled loved one at home. Loved ones in need of care, could be suffering from a physical or mental illness, disability, substance misuse, or other conditions.
We are the Family
Caregivers bridge to
Selfcare...
The first signs of neglect are not easily visible. They take time to show up. A missed medical appointment for your self. Missed sleep, and ignoring your need to take a break. Being a Caregiver can cause tremendous amounts of stress and it's not always easy to talk about. Many factors affect the caregivers decision to not ask for help or assistance. Sometimes it can stem from guilt and not wanting to sound as if you are complaining. Maybe family and friends are upset about you continuing to give support to a friend or family member who is struggling in their journey.
We understand the importance of a "Caregiver" for the Caregiver. We are here to offer respite from the storm. Support classes to help you better navigate your day to day life and challenges.
